Members of the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to Mixology on Spencer Place on Friday afternoon, where there was a report of a robbery in progress.
An employee at the store stated that she saw a woman place clothes into a bag and walk out without paying.
Police said that the employee followed her onto Christie Place and ultimately, the 42-year-old Scarsdale resident was tracked down inside DeCicco’s with the bag of allegedly stolen clothes.
The employee was able to positively identify the woman, who had the clothes in a bag from Wilson and Son’s Jewelry, police said. A second bag she allegedly had was also found in a dumpster outside of the parking lot of the grocery store.
The woman was arrested and charged with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. She was released following her arraignment and is due to appear in Scarsdale Village Court on Aug. 8 to answer the charges.
